KEVAT – A Patient Navigation Workshop: Patient Navigators are crucial for cancer patients. They guide them through multiple procedures, treatments, and resources, ensuring timely and efficient care. By handholding patients and their families, they provide an understanding of diagnoses and treatment options. The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding and expertise in patient navigation, equipping participants with comprehensive training on medical terminologies, cancer treatment protocols, supportive care options, and integrative therapies. Through detailed case studies from around the world, Ms. Nishu Goel, Program Head, KEVAT, TMC, Mumbai along with Dr. Vinit Sawant and Dr. Tanzim Sayyed shared insights on the successful implementation of the program. The workshop was attended by 40+ delegates from leading hospitals in Central India, including MSWs, nurses, patient experience team members, and hospital staff. It focused on promoting attitudinal change, highlighting the significance of optimal socio-economic support and maintaining equitable balance despite resource constraints.
